Deep Silver has revealed the unique “Hearts and Minds” feature that defines player progression in their upcoming FPS, Homefront: The Revolution with the new “Ignite” trailer.  Showcasing all in-game footage, the trailer begs the questions: “How much would it take for you to rise up and rebel against oppression? When is enough, enough?”

Players take on the role of all-American freedom fighter Ethan Brady in the upcoming game, as he rises up along with the rest of the populace to take Philadelphia back from the tyrannical grasp of the North Korean occupation force.

The Hearts and Minds feature represents the state of uprising across the oppressed Yellow Zones of occupied Philly, and increases as the player performs acts of resistance, such as destroying KPA infrastructure.

The way it works is that the open world environment dynamically transforms around the player as Hearts and Minds increases. The populace joins the player in acts of defiance against the army until the entire Zone evolves from a state of lockdown to open revolution in the streets.

Homefront: The Revolution is slated for a May 17 release on the PC, Xbox One and PS4 in North America followed by a May 20 release everywhere else.

While you wait, here are ten good reasons to look forward to the game.
