I’ve seen a lot of really entertaining things pop up on on my twitter feed in my time – Horse_eBooks, Oldmansearch and Kanye West, just to name a few. SkyrimMom’s play by play account of his mother’s remarks playing Skyrim has definitely made my ‘must follow’ list.
Nick Breckon, Bethesda Community Manager, has set his 65-year-old mother up with a copy of Skyrim and is tweeting her reactions as she plays – these reactions are gold.
"I got in some guy's cart and thought, 'Shit, I don't know where he's gonna take me! I had to get out; who knows where he was going.'" One tweet detailing her experience with fast travel reads. "I'm sure I'm missing something, but nobody is yelling at me."
Breckon’s mother even talks about other games she’s played. "It reminded me of Red Dead, when I went out with a bunch of cowboys one night to this gully to kill a bunch of bad guys.” Breckon tweeted on her behalf. “It was all dark and everyone was hiding behind boulders, and I didn't want to die again, so I just kept shooting and shooting and shooting. And then I heard the funniest thing: 'Well what the hell are you shootin' at me for, you're supposed to be killin' them! Quit shootin' me!' I laughed so hard. I was just killing everyone."
I can’t quite figure out if Breckon’s mother has a fantastic sense of humor or if she’s just one of the most endearing mothers on the internet, but does it really matter? I wish my mother was this cool. I got her to play Crash Bandicoot once.
She’s never been the same.
