Redfall Multiplayer Won’t Force Players To Stick Together

February 20, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Freely roam at your leisure.

If you’re counting down the days until Arkane releases Redfall, new details have emerged you might want to take note of. In a recent IGN Fan Fest event, as reported by Exputer, there was a highlight for Redfall. Of course, we knew that this game would offer multiplayer cooperative support. However, we’re now discovering that the game won’t tether players together. Instead, there is a focus on allowing players to move freely around the world.

Some video games can be pretty strict with multiplayer. If you’re playing cooperatively, sometimes the game will refrain players from getting too far away from each other. For instance, some players might not be able to proceed further into the map without the secondary players nearby. Likewise, some games will simply snap the player into the latest area once triggered. But that might not be the case here for Redfall. It’s been reported that players can freely explore the open world without connecting together.

So if you want some help, playing together could provide some additional aid. But outside of that, it seems that the game can still feel like a solo experience if you opt to go your own way. This should make for quite a thrilling experience if you’re able to call out to help and have to fend off an area until your friends can reach you. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see how well the multiplayer game handles when it finally launches into the marketplace. We still have a slight wait before Arkane can bring out their next big title release.

For those of you who might not have been keeping tabs, Redfall is an upcoming FPS. In this title, players are trapped on the island of Redfall as a vampire legion quickly takes over the area. Now to find a means of escape, players will have to battle against the swarms of vampires and cultist group members that have vowed their allegiance to the newcomers of the island town. Meanwhile, in other recent news regarding this game, it was uncovered that there wouldn’t be physical discs for Redfall. Instead, boxes will contain a code to acquire a digital copy of the game.

As mentioned, we still have a slight wait on our hands before we’re able to pick up a copy of Redfall. The video game will be launching on May 2, 2023, for the PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms. In the meantime, while we wait for the game to release, you can check out a game trailer for the upcoming title in the video we have embedded above.
