We've known for a while that the Vita will ship with a set of augmented reality cards and some AR minigames. Now, thanks to a video out of CES, we've got a better idea of the kinds of experiences we can expect.
The vid shows off one of the launch minigames, Table Soccer (that'sTable Football for those of you on the other side of the pond). To play, you lay out the AR cards on the table, setting up one for each goal, the midfield, the stands and the scoreboard. Once you've set up the pitch, you can pick a team and throw down in a turn-based soccer match over local multiplayer or WiFi.
While it probably won't win any game of the year awards, Table Soccer looks like a clever little diversion to keep us occupied once we've plowed through the Vita's launch lineup. If nothing else, it's a pretty snazzy tech demo for the handheld's AR capabilities.
