OnLive Coming to All Google TV Devices

January 11, 2012 by Josh Harmon

The two companies have announced a partnership that brings cloud gaming to Google’s Internet TV service.

Cloud gaming service OnLive has announced a new partnership with Google to bring their library of streaming content to all Google TV devices.

The OnLive Viewer, which allows access to the service's social features, will be immediately available to all Google TV users. The full application will be available at an unspecified later date, allowing for streaming gameplay of OnLive's growing library of PC titles. The service will be compatible with the official OnLive controller and any plug-and-play USB controller.

Keep in mind, you'll still need to subscribe, rent, or purchase games to play them, and OnLive requires a pretty hefty Internet connection to play smoothly.

Google TV is currently available on Sony's line of Internet TVs, the Sony Internet TV Blu-Ray player, and the standalone Logitech Revue set top box. The platform allows you to browse the Web and run Android apps, including Netflix, Pandora and other popular Internet services.
