Lies of P Insider Claims The Game Will Launch By May of This Year

January 9, 2023 by Dennis Patrick

Developers have yet to unveil the official release date.

Lies of P gained quite a bit of attention when it was first revealed. This is a brand new take on the classic fantasy tale of Pinocchio. But rather than being a lighthearted children’s tale, we’re getting a narrative set in a dark, twisted world backdrop. Developed by Neowiz, Lies of P is slated to launch this year. However, if you’ve been following the game updates and progress the developers have been sharing online, then you know we don’t have a specific release date. Instead, the developers have only slated the game to release in 2023. But now, an industry insider seems to have information regarding when players will finally get their hands on the upcoming Lies of P title.

According to an industry insider, Sn0w1n, there are plans to release Lies of P within the first half of 2023. What this means is that the game would come out anytime. In the tweet that was sent out online, the industry insider claims players could see Lies of P release as early as February or, at the very latest, May of this year. Unfortunately, there’s nothing showcased to highlight where this information comes from, so it very well could be different sources Sn0w1n is familiar with. But that at least narrows the game’s potential release date. Of course, we’re also still waiting on the official development team behind the project, Neowiz, to unveil when the game is launching into the marketplace.

If you haven’t been following this game since its announcement, we have you covered. Lies of P, as mentioned, is a new take on the classic Pinocchio tale. With Souls-like gameplay and visual aesthetic, players here are taking the role of a mechanical young man named Pinocchio. Waking up at an abandoned train station in a city filled with bloodlust, Pinocchio finds a note simply stating to find Mr. Geppetto within the area. It’s an uphill battle for survival and the hunt to find Mr. Geppetto.

Fortunately, being a mechanical puppet, players can combine various weapons to use against enemies along the way. Developers state that there is a variety of weapon combinations that will likely aid different playstyles. While we wait for the official announcement regarding Lies of P’s release date, we do know that the game will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
