Halo 5: Guardians is the latest game in the Halo series to offer Forge mode, in which players can create their own maps to play on with others. While most of the maps created in Forge mode are little more than regular battlegrounds, there are a few gems–one of which is a recreation of the game played by Harry Potter, Quidditch.
It’s basically a Grifball map, but played in an arena designed to look like the Quidditch arena in the Harry Potter movies. You can see it in action in the video by Halo 5 Remakes below:
Unlike real Quidditch, there’s only a single ball in play, so don’t expect any of the Quidditch rules to actually apply while you’re on the map. There’s no Seeker, and there’s certainly no game-ending Snitch. The limitations of Forge are evident, but with any luck, someone (perhaps the creator himself) might be inspired to bring Quidditch to a PC game and properly mod the magical sport.
The map was designed by xXHubabearXx. The map is called “Quidditch Arena”. It can be downloaded from his Halo 5 profile page.
Halo 5‘s Forge tools were released this past December and fans of the game are certain to come up with even greater creations in the months to come.
