Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Free To Play Weekend Announced

December 15, 2022 by Dennis Patrick

Check the game out starting today.

The Assassin’s Creed franchise is quite the lengthy one. So there’s a good chance that you’ve tried at least one of the games out before. With each installment tossing players into a different location and era, there’s typically something available from the franchise that will appeal to players. Currently, the latest installment that the development team at Ubisoft brought out is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This installment will take you straight back to the Viking age. Fortunately, Ubisoft has provided a free gameplay weekend if you haven’t given this title a chance.

Free gameplay weekends are nothing new. Developers will typically highlight some of their games for free. Players will get a limited amount of time to try the game out. If they enjoy the game, then they can purchase a copy and continue to progress through the campaign or online matches. Ubisoft has unveiled that a free weekend of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is going on right now. The free play for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla begins today and will end on December 19, 2022.

The Free Weekend on Assassin's Creed Valhalla will happen December 15-19.

These next few days could give you enough time with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla to either convince you to purchase the game or persuade you to pass it up. Regardless, if you pick the game up now, the entire game is officially wrapped up. Ubisoft recently released the last update, which brings in more narrative content. As a result, the development team is moving on to their next major Assassin’s Creed installment, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a title set in Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age.

We also know that there are other Assassin’s Creed games in the works. Ubisoft previously revealed that Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red would be a narrative following a protagonist during Feudal Japan. There is also Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe, where players will get sent to Central Europe during the 16th century, with the narrative focused on witch hunts. So while the development team has officially wrapped up Assassin’s Creed Valhalla content, more titles for this IP are inbound.

As mentioned, the free gameplay weekend for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has kicked off today and will go on until December 19, 2022. Unfortunately, for Xbox players, the free weekend will only be available to you if you’re an Xbox Live Gold subscriber. Likewise, if you want a bit more insight into the game, then we have you covered. Down below, you can view our Before You Buy coverage on the title.
