343 Industries recently introduced players with the multiplayer game mode Grifball in their latest release Halo 5: Guardians. The game mode has been part of the Halo franchise for a good while now with Grifball being an assault variant in game matches since Halo 3. However, with the game variant finally being introduced to Halo 5: Guardians, gamers are finding a variety of exploits that are leaving developers 343 Industries scrambling to find a quick solution.
As mentioned, Grifball is an assault variant which acts more like a sports title. Players are tasked with delivering a ball into the opposing team’s goal which is easier said than done. Within the game, players are equipped with Energy Swords and Gravity Hammers, the latter has become a problem during gameplay. A standard option that comes attached inside Halo 5: Guardians, is the ability to boot a player who continues to grief and attack their own team members.
Because of this boot feature, gamers can easily kick their team members out of the game completely by accident. Gravity Hammers are often used in these matches which are massive melee weapons that deals splash damage. During the game, it’s often common for players to accidentally kill their own teammates with these weapons. After so long, a message would pop up instantly asking if you would like to boot your teammate that killed you during the match. Since these menus pop up instantly, it has led to some players accidentally hitting the wrong button kicking their teammate from the game.
That’s not all, there have been other exploits discovered in Grifball such as Reddit user Swolley posting an exploit on how to exit the arena during the game.
Additionally, Reddit user PraetorianiRex shows how players can drop the ball in an area that cannot be reached to continue the game. 343 Industries have noted that they are aware of the problems and are looking to resolve them.
