Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward's creative director, has been busy tweeting. People have been complaining about deathstreaks, the abilities you unlock after stringing together a series of deaths, and wanted to know his opinion on them.
“I agree (that deathstreaks are frustrating) but its a feature that is appreciated by an equally as large user base. One of those things. Many people reach out to express their appreciation for deathstreaks, helping them back into the fight.” For one hot-headed little elf (it IS nearly Christmas, you know) this wasn't a good enough explanation and they demanded to know why Last Stand would be removed as a perk for being unbalanced but Final Stand would be kept as a deathstreak. The answer is pretty obvious: “because Last Stand could happen every death, where Final Stand only happens after doing extremely poorly for a while in a row.”
Personally, I spend quite a bit of time in Last Stand, so I appreciate the fact they left it in. I still don't get any kills, but seeing the world from the floor offers a completely new perspective on the game and an apt metaphor for my Call of Duty skills. THANKS Infinity Ward!
