3DS Gets 3D Video Recording

December 6, 2011 by Elizabeth DeLoria

The new 3DS update that just hit North America allows you to (finally) record 3D movies.

The new 3DS update that just hit North America allows you to (finally) record 3D movies.

The new update allows you to use your 3DS camera to record up to 10 minutes of 3D footage as well as create your own stop motion photography.

Other new features that come with this update include the ability to port batches of data from one 3DS to another (so you can probably share your 3D movie of your grandma’s reaction to 2 Girls 1 Cup with your friends,) and a new Street Pass feature that allows you to see where you met other Miis on a map.

The Mii Map addition is probably a handy little feature for those of you who hoard street passes like some kind of cocaine-laced gold bars and are finding it hard to keep track of who is who anymore as day and night blur into one mini game after another.

As for the 3D video recording, I’m going to take so much video of my cats.
