How to Access the Football Manager 2023 Beta

October 20, 2022 by John McDonald

Get your suit at the ready!

The stats are in for one certain player on the upcoming Football Manager 2023

Football Manager is the greatest soccer management simulation game that money can buy. Don’t get me wrong, there’s not exactly much competition, but that’s also down to the series being the best, and that is just a fact. But before Football Manager 2023 launches on November 8, there is a beta to play, which will undoubtedly be causing quite a stir.

Football Manager 2023 follows on from the highly impressive 2022 installment, so there’s a lot to live up to. Will it be as good? Will it improve on anything or add any new aspects? These are all questions that will be answered in due course. What we do know for certain is that the game will include more realistic AI managers, another overhaul to the match engine, and an entire revamp of the recruitment systems – let’s not speak too soon, but this could be the best entry yet.

But there’s a beta to get our hands on first, and we have all the information about how to access it as of today.

The trailer for the upcoming Football Manager 2023

The beta went live at 6 PM BST/10 AM PT/1 PM ET on October 20. Accessing the beta is relatively simple as well, so fret not young soccer managers. All you need to do is pre-order the game on either a PC or Mac from a participating retailer, with Steam looking likely to be the most popular method. You can see a full list of SEGA’s retail partners here, and by pre-ordering the game you will be saving yourself 20 percent as well, which is always good news. For those of you that have already pre-ordered the game, simply download the beta from the platform that you bought it on and it will be sorted.

The beta is set to include most of what will be available in the main game when it is released but you will expect to find that some of these aspects are limited because that’s just the rules. It makes a change for a beta to be so in-depth though, with many early access games being only a fragment of what you end up experiencing. The only thing you should be wary of is the possibility of bugs and glitches, but these can be reported on the game’s menu, and make sure you do that because it helps with the end game.

The main question you will be asking is: Can saves on the beta be transferred over to the full game? And the answer is yes. Single-player saves should automatically be saved on your profile when you boot up the full game, but the same doesn’t apply to multiplayer saves which you won’t have the same luxury of keeping.

Football Manager is predominantly known as a PC game, and that is where most of the activity is found. But not to be left out, Football Manager 2023 follows the trend of previous titles in that it will also be available for Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
