Dead Space Remake Shares Extended Gameplay Trailer

October 14, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

All aboard the USG Ishimura.

Fans looking forward to the release of the Dead Space remake in the new year are certainly getting a lot of pre-game hype at the moment. EA Motive has been sharing plenty of exciting snippets of information about the game recently. In addition to details about the game’s unique new “peeling system,” as well as an interview with the game’s Creative Director, a new extended gameplay video has just dropped.

The latest look at the Dead Space remake comes courtesy of the game’s Senior Producer Philippe Ducharme. The video shows off some actual gameplay footage as an extended walkthrough of what Ducharme describes as one of his “favourite sections” of the game. You can check out the full video for yourself right here if you want to get a first look at some of the updated visuals and audio in the upcoming Dead Space remake.

As shown in the video, the action takes place at the start of Dead Space‘s chapter three, in the massively expanded hangar of the USG Ishimura. Players are heading towards the Engineering sector’s control room, in an attempt to restart the ship’s engine. The walkthrough gives players a highly detailed look at some of the seamless exploration available in this new reimagining of the Ishimura, giving viewers an idea of how the vast areas of the interconnected ship will allow more freedom as the game plays out as essentially one singular shot.

The walkthrough clip also showcases some of the new features in the Dead Space remake, such as the game’s intensity director. This is a new addition that’s designed to heighten the sense of immersion and increase the intensity of the overall gameplay experience. The Ishimura has been specifically designed to provide an “unpredictable” experience. This means that exploration will be unique each time you venture to both new and previously explored areas, as the game’s lighting, ambience and enemies can change each time. The game is also packed with updated audio and visual effects, which can be seen in the walkthrough footage.

It’s fair to say that the remake is looking pretty exciting from what’s been shown so far. The first official gameplay trailer for the game was only released a week or so ago, but this new walkthrough definitely gives fans a bit more insight into the level of intensity they can expect from the reimagined USG Ishimura. The team at EA Motive are definitely keen to share more about the upcoming game, with a new blog post up on the official website that takes a more in-depth look at the game’s deadly Necromorphs as well. It’s definitely a very exciting time for fans of the original as well as those looking forward to the remake.

The Dead Space remake launches on January 27 next year and will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
