Electronic Arts and Visceral Games have detailed some of the new features being added to Battlefield Hardline, the publisher’s cop-based spinoff of the popular military FPS series.
The game is set to see the release of a new DLC titled Betrayal, which comes with updates available to players who don’t own it. Betrayal is the game’s fourth and final DLC that’s part of the game’s DLC season pass. Those who purchase it will get the following content:
- Four new maps: Alcatraz, Cemetery, Chinatown, and Thin Ice
- Seven new weapons
- Two new vehicles
- Customize primary weapons and uniforms with the Gun Bench Super Feature, and test them at the Gun Range
- New Assignments and Legendary weapon camos
Instead of having to enter a live game to test out your new weapons, players will be able to check them out at the new Gun Bench feature that lets them preview their items.
Among the new weapons being added to the game are swords. Yes. These medieval weapons will only be useful in melee range, so if you see someone running at you with a broadsword, be sure to pull the trigger before he reaches you.
The free update that’s set to launch with the DLC will add 11 new weapons to the game and new server presets. Additionally, every Gold Battlepack players unlock after applying the update will have a chance of dropping a weapon license voucher in addition to their usual goods. Weapon licenses allow players to use certain faction-specific guns available to you regardless of the team you’re on.
Betrayal is set for release in March 2016.
