Dead Space is an iconic survival horror franchise. For years we’ve seen fans hold this IP up in the limelight despite EA dropping the franchise. However, after fans pleas for this franchise to get a new resurgence, EA finally delivered. So we’re now getting ready to dive into the Dead Space franchise all over again. Although, this next video game installment is not a continuation. Instead, fans of the franchise will find Dead Space is getting a remake.
With the remake, fans will get a massive overhaul in terms of the game mechanics and visuals. So even if you’re a veteran fan who played the initial release back in 2008, this should hopefully feel like a new experience. Likewise, if you happened to miss out on the initial release, then this will hopefully give you just as thrilling of experience as those veteran fans had over a decade ago.
Although, you will want to make note that this is a mature survival horror video game. As a result, there will be quite a bit of blood, gore, intense violence, and strong language. So prepare for a terrifying experience as you navigate your way through the campaign narrative.
What’s The Story About In Dead Space Remake?
Again, since this is a video game remake, you likely will find the story will remain mainly the same. There could be some tweaks along the way, but overall we’re probably going to see the game campaign story hit the main beats as the original. This mature storyline will toss players into the future, set within the 26th century. Players will be stepping into the role of Isaac Clarke, an engineer who repairs space vessels.
One day, Isaac Clarke responds to a distress signal and soon finds himself trapped on a ship infected by an alien parasite. This plague of sorts has mutated human corpses roaming around, making it a fight for survival. Meanwhile, somewhere on the ship is Isaac’s girlfriend, Nicole Brennan. I mean, talk about a rough day on the job, right?
Fortunately, we don’t have too long of a wait before we can get our hands on Dead Space. While the developers at Motive Studio were hoping to release the game in 2022, it was ultimately delayed. As it currently stands at the time of writing this article, we can expect Dead Space remake to launch on January 27, 2023.
You do have a few platform choices available to pick this game up on when it does launch. At launch, you should see Dead Space available on the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Meanwhile, as we wait for the game to launch into the marketplace, you can check out the game trailer down below.
