Stray has been getting quite a lot of attention since its release last week. With its unique premise of allowing you to play as a stray cat with a robot companion, the game has been getting tons of positive reviews reaching an almost unheard-of 9 on Metacritic. While the game is only a week old, PC modders have already been taking the liberty of putting their own stamp on the game – One of the funnier mods swopping players out with the famous lazy pants, that is Garfield.
Garfield is by far one of the most famous fictional cat characters in pop culture, he’s the brainchild of comic creator Jim Davis and is ranked as the most syndicated comic character ever. Collectively Garfield brings in around $750 million to $1 billion annually so the popularity of the character is most definitely there.
Nexus Modder, Chris Rubino drew a parallel between the world’s most loveable cat and the protagonist in Stray, effectively allowing anyone who owns the game on PC to play as the lasanga-loving comic strip character.
Those who play stray on PC can enjoy even more interesting mods to switch gameplay up. One of the more awkward mods allows you to play as CJ from San Andreas, with a contorted body. It’s quite hilarious!
While many mods have been focused on changing the player model, one mod particular mod switches out the meow to a reference from Quantic Dreams “Heavy Rain”. The cat will now yell out “JASON!” instead of meowing.
