Pokemon Marks 20 Years With Super Bowl Ad

January 25, 2016 by Stephen Daly

20 years of being the best. Like no one ever was.

The Pokemon series is marking its 20th anniversary this year and the occasion is being celebrated with a Super Bowl commercial.

While Super Bowl 50 doesn't take place until February 7th, the ad is available to view right now.

On February 27th the original Pokemon games will be re-released through the eShop's Virtual Console for 2DS and 3DS systems and there are various bundles for both Europe and North America. 2016 also sees the release of Pokken Tournament for Wii U and smartphone spin-off Pokemon Go.

No major handheld instalment in the series is confirmed for 2016 but there's some reason to believe there will be one later in the year.

You can watch the commercial below, it will be the first Pokemon ad to appear during the Super Bowl.
