Nintendo has been doing a lot over the years to try and keep Nintendo Switch sales up, and of course, one of the biggest things is launching a large line of software titles to keep players playing the console and thus have a need to get one if they don’t already. One of the upcoming titles that is happening in September is none other than Splatoon 3, the latest entry in the long-running and fan-favorite series where you play and Inkling trying to ink territory in order to get your team a win.

The game was one of the biggest hits on the Wii U when it first came out, and then the Nintendo Switch got its sequel in 2017, fast forward to September 9th and Splatoon 3 will arrive with all sorts of new and familiar things to keep the gamers happy. Today, Nintendo of America announced that a special Splatoon-themed Nintendo Switch OLED was going to be available starting on August 26th! As you can see in the tweet above, not only does it have a “splat” on it to represent the ink, it’s got a very detailed cover to represent Splatoon as a whole.

The Nintendo Switch OLED may not be the “Nintendo Switch Pro” that has been rumored for years, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing good in it. It is an upgrade of a sort, it’s just not a full-on one. So if you don’t have a Nintendo Switch as of yet, this might be the one you should get because it really is a cool design.

Plus, as we get closer to the September release date for the third Splatoon game, we’re going to get even more details on the weapons, modes, storylines and more that players will get to have fun with.
