Black Friday is a great opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done, but it’s also a key holiday for companies to conduct research on their target demographics. According to InfoScout, PlayStation seemed to be the winner among consoles this past Black Friday as they saw an 8% increase in interest among Millennials.
On the other hand, XBox seemed to be the console of choice for middle-aged shoppers. XBox saw an increase of 2% from their average numbers among middle-aged consumers.
But don’t worry, Nintendo wasn’t completely left behind in the dust. According to InfoScout, Target revealed that the Wii U was its top-selling item over the holiday. However, they did see a 1% drop in interest among millennials and a 4% drop in interest among middle-aged consumers. The PS4 also did manage to top Best Buy’s sales, with the 500GB Uncharted console bundle raking in extra money for the retailer.
Since this is just the beginning of the holiday season, it’s hard to wage how much each individual console will make, but so far it looks like PlayStation is coming out on top.
