Fallout 4’s Console Commands Not Recommended on PC

Nov 23, 2015 Stephen Daly

And they won't be available on consoles.

Bethesda’s Pete Hines has said the developer does not “supported or recommend” using console commands on PC as they can severly damage save files in Fallout 4.

Asked whether there were any plans to bring console commands to PS4 and Xbox One, Hines replied, “use of the console is not supported or recommended on PC. [They] can very easily mess up save games. That kind of thing isn’t permitted on consoles anyway.”

As for why they’re not permitted on consoles, Hines said to direct any such queries to Sony and Microsoft.

If you’re willing to take the risk, we have a number of basic and advanced console commands you can test out in the game.

Earlier today Bethesda released the first major beta patch for Fallout on Steam.
