During the Xbox and Bethesda Games 2022 Showcase, the trailer for the next game in the A Plague Tale franchise, A Plague Tale: Requiem, gave fans a peak at the beautiful and brutal story to come. Full of stunning settings, stealthy attacks, and floods of rats, this game looks intense. Check out the newest trailer below! (Warning: Rated Mature 17+.)
In the last game, A Plague Tale: Innocence, the story of Amicia and her little brother Hugo was introduced. In the dark days of medieval France, Hugo, who appeared to be fatally ill from birth, was actually in possession of enormous powers. His curse allowed him to control hoards of rats, which could devour anyone in their path. Their mother was an alchemist working on a cure for the curse, but Amicia and Hugo had to rescue her from the Inquisition, who wanted to use Hugo’s powers to take over France.
In the newest game, A Plague Tale: Requiem – End of Innocence, the story of Amicia and Hugo continues, just further south. They travel to new territories, still searching for a cure. The rats return, however, and so the two head to an island that they believe may help in their mission. Beatrice, their mother, sends Lucas, the apprentice of an alchemist who tried to help Hugo in the previous game, to help Amicia gather nightshade. The game will require stealth to sneak through rival camps and defensive combat.
The detail in this game is sure to mesmerize as well as horrify players in this historical/supernatural adventure. The new island looks picturesque while the literal flood of carnivorous rats is enough to make your skin crawl. A Plague Tale: Requiem – End of Innocence, comes out sometime this year on Xbox Consoles and PC. Play it on day one with the Xbox Game Pass.
