Activision has shared a bigger look at The Giant, the bonus map available for Call of Duty Black Ops 3. If you still had some lingering questions, this should answer most if not all of it.
So, The Giant seems more or less completely separated from Shadows of Evil, unless there may be connections we won’t know about without playing the game. What The Giant is connected to is Call of Duty Black Ops 2. The map itself is based on Der Riese from Call of Duty World at War, and picks up the story from Zombies in Black Ops 2 Origins.
So there is no longer any doubt that you will be reuniting with Dempsey, Nikolai, Richtofen, and Takeo, in what appears to be an elaborate Biff Tannen like scheme to conquer the world via time travel.
Treyarch had another reveal trailer that was leaked early and led to this speculation video. If this is your first time hearing about The Giant, those videos are a good way to acquaint yourself with what the fans already know.
And now, some bad news. The Giant is only available if you buy either the Collector’s Edition or Season Pass. It is also not available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The upside, when you do get it, is like everything else in the game, you can choose to play through it on Day One.
Call of Duty Black Ops 3 will be released on November 6 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
