The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD May be in Development

October 14, 2015 by Stephen Daly

eShop titles and icons appear to confirm the game.

Nintendo appears to be developing a HD version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii U.

The game, originally released on the Wii and GameCube in 2008, seems to be coming to Nintendo's current console following the discovery of a Twilight Princess shop icon on the Wii U eShop backend.

Following the icon's discovery, the title 'Twilight Princess HD' has been found on Nintendo's eShop servers, seemingly adding to the veracity of the rumours.

While its darker tone was praised at the time, the game failed to match the level of support found for the more colourful Wind Waker.

Releasing a HD Zelda would fill the gap left by the delay of the Wii U Zelda title and follows the release of Wind Waker HD on the platform.

Some have speculated that the next new Zelda game may be pushed back to the NX, Nintendo's next console.
