Rap artist, musician, and all-around swell guy Kanye West voiced his dismay at game companies that put in-app purchases in games intended for children in a series of tweets.
Kanye's tweets echoed what many parents feel when they allow their young children to play games on their iPads or other tablet devices. Most freemium, and even some premium games contain pop-ups and notices encouraging their players to spend money on in-app purchases. It's particularly shady when the games in question are intended to be played by children under the age of 5, billing parents who forget to lock purchases on their device with exorbitant fees.
Here's what he said:
Fuck any game company that puts in-app purchases on kids games!!!

That makes no sense!!! We give the iPad to our child and every 5 minutes there's a new purchase!!!

If a game is made for a 2 year old, just allow them to have fun and give the parents a break for Christ sake.

Blunt, and absolutely to the point.
