New Screenshots for The Callisto Protocol Have Dropped

May 25, 2022 by John McDonald

And no, it’s not the one below.

We all love some exclusive never before seen screenshots of upcoming games, and some cracking ones have been revealed for The Callisto Protocol. This survival horror game is looking likely to be released later on in the year, and by just going off these screenshots, it could be well worth the wait.

Check out the screenshots in the Twitter post below.

As you can see from these exclusive pictures, the game looks aesthetically gorgeous and the villains look terrifying, there is already a sense of atmosphere just by looking at these screenshots.

If you don’t know much about The Callisto Protocol, then read on. It is set in the PUBG: Battlegrounds universe, taking place far into the future, in the year 2320 at a prison colony called ‘Black Iron’, which is operated by the United Jupiter Company, and located on Jupiter’s moon, Callisto. The player will take on the role of a special prisoner that is held in this mighty prison, and they find themselves in the middle of an alien invasion that looks to have been purposeful engineering by the Black Iron’s warden.

The Callisto Protocol is of the sci-fi horror genre, with the game receiving similarities to the acclaimed Dead Space series. The game appears to include the same type of diegetic interface that Dead Space used, through the holographic indicator on the back of the prisoner’s neck that indicates health, etc. But the overall atmosphere and the eerie presence in this game are also very akin to Dead Space.

Sci-fi horror games have such a wide audience of fans; the overall feel of them, the ugly aliens or the monsters that threaten your life are as scary as they come, and the other thing is, games like these are never a walk in the park and they really do test your ability to stay calm and your skills as a gamer.

Due to be released sometime this year, so stay tuned for a proper release date when it comes.
