Obi-Wan Kenobi Gets Extended Clip Released

We’re just one week away from the release of the first two episodes of the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series, and fans are very much excited to see what happens in the show. Not the least of which is because it’s going to serve as a “bridge” between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. A time (in regards to Obi-Wan at least) that has only been lightly touched in comics and books. And since it’s only one week away, a clip of the first episode has been released. You can watch it above.

As you can see, things are pretty tense between Obi-Wan and Uncle Owen. The former wants Luke to have a full life and not just be confined to Tatooine (which is ironically enough a reference to A New Hope and how we meet Luke). Whereas the latter just wants to give him a life that is safe from harm, and away from the influences his family and “protector” in Obi-Wan.

It’s a very interesting dynamic, and it’s possible that more scenes like this will be shown as the episodes go on. Of course, we also know that Obi-Wan will be going off-world to go and fight the Inquisitors and Darth Vader, but outside of that, we don’t know too much (outside of how it ends of course).

Fans are hoping that this “scratches an itch” that they have for both Obi-Wan Kenobi and the various other things that were showcased in things like Star Wars Rebels. Many are even hoping that Ewan will get to bring his character back beyond this limited series, and it is possible, we just don’t know if it’ll happen.

Regardless of all of that, the series will debut on Disney+ on the 27th, and that means you don’t have to wait too much longer to get some answers.
