Maisie Williams Talks Reprising Arya For Multiversus

.@Maisie_Williams breaks down which characters Arya Stark can fight in #MultiVersus, like Shaggy & Batman! #FallonTonight pic.twitter.com/N05uIUtLBP

From the moment it was leaked, a lot of people had natural trepidations about Multiversus. Why? Because it was seemingly following in the path of Super Smash Bros and Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl where they were mashing in IP characters for a “unique fighting game” and hoping it would work. It obviously did for the first two, but would it for the third? So far, as the game is in Alpha right now, the answer would seem to be yes. The game is fun, has a nice roster, and more. But key among these characters are the voices of them.

By that we mean that the team truly went all-out in some cases to try and get the OG voice actors for many of these characters. Including Kevin Conroy for Batman, Matthew Lillard for Shaggy, Tara Strong for Harley Quinn and on and on it goes. But just as surprising was Maisie Williams returning to be Arya Stark for the first time since the Game of Thrones finale. …which I’m not going to speak on for ranting reasons.

Anyway, Maisie herself was on Jimmy Fallon and he brought up Multiversus, and she noted that when she first went in to voice her lines, she was “woefully underprepared”. Why? Because she wasn’t told it was a fighting game at first! Instead, she thought she was being Arya in an RPG setting (which makes sense given the Game of Thrones origins for her character). But then she started doing lines about Bugs Bunny and she realized that this was a fighting game pretty quick.

To her, it was “king of wild” that she was in this game, and that is an accurate representation of this, as this is indeed a wild game with pairings you were never going to see coming to life, and it’ll only get wilder when the full game releases later this year.
