Bandai Namco has filed some trademarks that will be of interest to Naruto fans.
Trademarks for Narutimate Braves, Narutimate Blazing, and Narutimate Wars were revealed publicly today, after being filed in Japan last August 26.
Now, Narutimate is a popular portmanteau in Japan, combining the words Naruto and Ultimate. Many Naruto Storm games, as well as its predecessors, used the name Narutimate. Of course, Bandai Namco have yet to comment on what these trademarks will be for.
Of course, Cyberconnect2 have been making the Naruto Storm games, but last July they revealed they have no plans for future games after Masashi Kishimoto ended the manga the series is based on. Of course, other developers have made Naruto games, most recently Inti Creates’ Naruto Powerful Shippuden for 3DS.
So, it’s likely these projected Naruto games are not arena based fighters, and instead expand the IP to other genres. There’s also the chance one or two of these are mobile or Facebook games.
