Sony has announced that it is seeking beta testers for its PS4 system software updates. Participants will be able experience future firmware updates ahead of everyone else and provide feedback on what works and what doesn't.
To take part, you need a PS4, an internet connection, and a master PlayStation Network Account – sub-accounts cannot take part in the beta testing program. If you've ticked all of those boxes, head through this link to sign up and you'll be notified if you're successful.
Beta testers will have the option to revert to PS4 system software update (v2.57) at any time once the program commences on September 2nd – Sony says they'll have more information to share on the next update at that time.
Sony says, "Thanks in advance for helping test the system software update – your feedback will go a long way towards making this even better."
Some Japanese players already have the option to participate in a beta for updates and details of update 3.0 were reportedly leaked earlier this month.
Early adopters of past updates have sometimes run into problems, including bricked consoles, so it's not too surprising Sony wants to test out new features in advance but as they say, let the buyer beware.
