So many of us are waiting on the edge of our seats for season 3 of Netflix’s Outer Banks. Many of us didn’t know if the show would get signed for another season since the second season came so quickly after the first but the third wasn’t as fortunate. But just in February, it was confirmed we were getting another season to this treasure hunting show, but the show was renewed in December of the following year. The OBX Netflix Twitter account tweeted a photo with a lot of our favorite cast members with the caption: “wouldn’t wanna be stranded with anyone else. OBX3 is now in production” with a hang-loose emoji.
Right after production started on the third season, the cast members have been posting tons of things from the set and behind-the-scenes videos and posts. Some were shared via Instagram stories which expire within 1 day which is unfortunate, but I am sure we are in-store for a bunch more photos and videos before the third season releases on Netflix.
Madelyn Cline, who plays John B’s love interest, Sarah, shared some pictures on Instagram on April 21st, with the caption: “we’re back and so are the foils hi charleston we missed youuu.“
More About Outer Banks and the Upcoming Seasons
The Netflix Original show is an action-packed adventure teen drama series, that first premiered in 2021 and took the world by storm with thousands of people talking about the show ranging from teens to adults. The show’s American ratings skyrocketed in July last year and Outer Banks got millions of views and became one of the most viewed shows on Netflix.
The series is a teenage treasure hunt action-adventure with two groups of people on the OBX coast, the Kooks who are wealthy, and the Pogues who come from the working class. The Outer Banks show is written and directed by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke. After the surprising ending of the second season, everyone knew the show wasn’t done and that there was much more to this story. many reports and rumors have said season three of Outer Banks will most likely air around mid-2022, maybe sometime in August or September, but nothing has been confirmed yet. It has also been rumored by another source that the screenplay of season 4 is already being written
The third season of the show currently does not have a trailer, although a video has been posted on the official Instagram account with the series cast members enjoying being back and celebrating Outer Banks’ return.
In season 3 of Outer Banks, Chase Stokes will be returning as John B Routledge, Madison Bailey will be Pope Heyward, Rudy Pankow is JJ Maybank, Madelyn Cline will be Sarah Cameron, and Austin North as Topper Thornton.
What We Can Probably Expect From Season 3
Season 2 of Outer Banks was intense, leaving us with a shocking ending of the teens being stranded on a deserted island. Not to mention the shocking knowledge of John B’s father still being alive. We will be in for a treat when it releases hopefully later this year. So I’m sure many of us are expecting the show to pick up where it left off.
