2004’s RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Now Available on iOS

August 13, 2015 by Michael Fossbakk

Does not include microtransactions.

UK developer Frontier Developments released a port of 2004’s theme park management game RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 for iOS.

The port is priced at $5 and does not include any microtransactions or other features common to free-to-play titles.

The game’s controls and user interface have been updated with touch screens in mind as it will run on a range of iPhone and iPad devices. No plans for an Android port were announced.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 for iOS includes all 18 scenarios from the PC version of the game, plus five park themes, 100 pre-built coasters, a rollercoaster creator, and the original sandbox mode for you to take complete control over your ideal theme park.

Only the following iOS devices will run RollerCoaster Tycoon 3:

  • iPad Mini 2 (2013)
  • iPad Mini 3 (2014)
  • iPad Air (2013)
  • iPad Air 2 (2014)
  • iPhone 5S (2014)
  • iPhone 6 (2014)
  • iPhone 6 Plus (2014)

At E3 2015, Frontier Developments announced they are making a spiritual successor to the original RollerCoaster Tycoon called Planet Coaster. It is set to be released next year on PC.
