Gearbox's Battleborn is set for release on February 9th, 2016, publisher 2K Games announced today during gamescom.
A new trailer, which you can watch above, and four new characters were also revealed today. The new warriors are: Ambra, Benedict, Mellka, and Reyna. In all, Battleborn has a 25-character roster.
The unusually large roster is explained by Gearbox's attempt to make MOBA-like game mechanics work in a co-op shooter setting. Whether or not they'll manage it is another matter but it does seem to be shaping up nicely.
An open beta for the game is planned and Gearbox says it will share details of that later this year. Battleborn is in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The game was originally expected to launch this winter.
