The Xbox line of systems have never been the ‘top dog’ in the video game world (console-wise) for a variety of reasons. Not the least of which is that their competition in Sony and Nintendo have been doing consoles longer than them, and they have a wide net of companies who can make great 1st and 3rd party titles for them. But, one thing that Xbox has done well recently is that of the Xbox Game Pass. Providing gamers with a WIDE array of titles that they can download and play at any time, and all for $10.
Now, usually, this would involve games that were “old” or were “indie titles”, but not so with Game Pass, as they bring in RECENT games and sometimes even same-day releases onto the pass so that people will get the pass, and by extension, play the game. And that leads us to Resident Evil Village. Because this game came out to wide acclaim last year (not the least of which was due to a 9 foot tall vampire lady…) and was even given some Game of the Year nods.
And now, a Polish website is reporting that it might be coming to Xbox Game Pass. We can’t confirm this, obviously, but if it was to come to the service it would be a big deal.
Resident Evil (game-wise at least) has been on an uptick since Resident Evil Biohazard, and Village continued that momentum. So if they were to further build up the love of the franchise once more by bringing it onto Game Pass for more to play? Then that would mean that interest in RE9 whenever that comes out would be through the roof.
Again, this is only a rumor, but it’s one that is as tantalizing as Lady Dimitrescu. Wait, did we say that out loud?
