Is Ghostwire: Tokyo Coming To PC?

March 17, 2022 by Ophelie Castelot

Bethesda’s upcoming action-adventure game won’t be available on all platforms.

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are extremely popular but some players are curious if their favorite upcoming game will release on PC. Several supply issues prevent some players from getting their hands on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Others would just rather play on PC, as it allows for more personalization doesn’t require buying a brand new console. Plus, you can plug any controller and enjoy your favorite game just like you would on a next-gen console.

With the Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft already answers most questions about whether or not a game is coming to PC. If it’s available on Xbox Series X/S, chances are you will also be able to play it on PC. But when it comes to PlayStation 5 games, things are not always this easy. While some games have a Microsoft Windows version, others are strictly PlayStation exclusives.

Will Ghostwire: Tokyo Come To PC?

Ghostwire: Tokyo is the latest project of Bethesda Softworks. The game is developed by Tango Gameworks, the studio behind The Evil Within horror game series. This upcoming action-adventure game is set to release worldwide on March 25, 2022.

Over a year ago, Microsoft purchased ZeniMax, the parent company of Bethesda. It only makes sense for Xbox and PC players to expect all upcoming Bethesda games to come out on Microsoft consoles. The company even announced that some new Bethesda games would be exclusive to Xbox consoles and PC.  But Phil Spencer said that this deal does not affect Ghostwire: Tokyo, as its release on PlayStation 5 was planned before the buyout.

Unfortunately for Xbox fans, Ghostwire: Tokyo won’t release on this platform – at least not in 2022. Ghostwire: Tokyo is a one-year exclusive game for PlayStation 5 and PC. If Xbox players will have to wait one year to discover this new game, PC players are luckier. Ghostwire: Tokyo will be available on PC day one, and you can already find it on Steam.
