The Steam Deck releases in a mere nine days, but press already have their hands on it and have been detailing all of the games currently available. Now, Persona 4 Golden is playable on Steam Deck after previously being confirmed to simply not be playable on the system.
Originally Persona 4 Golden was on a shortlist of games that wouldn’t be playable on the system, joining games such as Battlefield 1, A Way Out, Need For Speed Heat and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. However since the Steam Deck was finally finished, Valve have been working on testing games on the system and working out ways to make as many games work as possible. Now it’s possible to play an elusive title on the system that was previously playable only on PS Vita and later on Steam. Once it released on Steam it sold a million copies, but that release in general took years and years to make a reality.
Persona 4 Golden is the predecessor to Persona 5 Royal, and is often forgotten about by fans of the series due to the limited ways in which you can play it, and how forgotten the PS Vita tends to be when discussing consoles. Hopefully a wider release on a better handheld system will allow it to reach a wider audience and allow people to discover what came before Persona 5 Royal.
