Sony Releases the 1TB PlayStation 4

June 22, 2015 by Vanessa Lopa

Some players may argue that 1TB isn’t nearly enough for their game libraries, but it’s a decent start.

Sony has stepped up its game and has announced that they’ll be releasing a 1TB PlayStation 4, dubbed the “Ultimate Player Edition.”

The Ultimate Player Edition offers twice as much storage as the PlayStation 4 that is currently on the market. It’s set to launch in select Europe and PAL territories on July 15th. There are currently no specs sheets or details about any bonus inclusions, and buyers will have to check with their local retailers for availability and price.

Some players may deem this insufficient still, as games are averaging around 50gb each, lately. This appears to be their answer to Microsoft’s 1TB Xbox One, which was launched last June 15th with a handful of bonuses. There’s no news on whether Sony will also follow suit in dropping the price on the soon-to-be-“inferior” edition of the PS4.
