Star Wars Battlefront: Heroes And Villains Explained

June 22, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

Not all modes will have them, and those that do will have time limits to using them.

DICE has shared new information on how heroes and villains will work in Star Wars Battlefront. We have the info courtesy of Star Wars HQ, whom you can subscribe to on YouTube here.

The heroes and villains are activated by powerups. Some modes will limit how long they stay in the battlefield, and of course, this is for the sake of balance. DICE is on record that balance is their priority for Star Wars Battlefront, to avoid the pitfalls of the original Star Wars Battlefront 2. Not all modes will have heroes and villains, so if you want to get away from it, you can.

Luke Skywalker will be fast and acrobatic. He will have a fast attack and a heavy attack. The heavy attack will have a wide arc that allows him to hit many enemies with one swing. Luke’s Force attacks  include Force Push, and Saber Rush, which will allow him to get close to an enemy from far away almost immediately.

Darth Vader, in contrast, is slow moving, but his moves have a long reach, particularly thanks to the Dark Side. His Force powers will include a Force Choke, as well as that Force Throw that lets him use a lightsaber like a boomerang, flying back to him after use.

Boba Fett will be all about his jetpack, with a focus on gadgets and vertical movement. He also has his E33 Carbine Rifle, along with some wrist launchers that can launch surprisingly damaging minirockets. While Boba’s gameplan is all about attacking from a distance, he does have short range attacks, particularly using his flamethrower.

Star Wars Battlefront will be releasing on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
