WWE 2K22 Announcement Trailer

January 20, 2022 by Dani Cook

Check out the full trailer below.

The next installment in the WWE 2K franchise, WWE 2K22, is coming in just a couple of months and developers Visual Concepts have finally released an announcement trailer. The game was teased at WrestleMania 37 back in April 2021, exciting fans of WWE 2K. Check out the new trailer below.

WWE 2K has been going strong for over two decades now, with the first game in the series having released in March 2000. WWE 2K22 marks the 24th installment in the franchise and sees the games return after not releasing a game in 2021. Last year was the first time there was no WWE game in the last 20 years.

As described by Visual Concepts, WWE 2K22 is “nearly here and it’s filled with stunning graphics, a redesigned gameplay engine, new controls, and more! From all-new game modes to unbelievable storylines, prepare for the next installment.” According to the new trailer, WWE 2K22 will feature a “redesigned game engine,” “fresh gameplay,” “stunning graphics,” and a “New MyGM Mode.”

The WWE 2K22 trailer is a mix of in-game graphics and real-life cameos, including one by musician Machine Gun Kelly. It’s a fun, chaotic video that perfectly matches the feel of WWE 2K games.

WWE 2K20 received a negative reception from both critics and fans, receiving a score of 43% on Metacritic for both PS4 and PC. This led to the games’ executive producer Patrick Gilmore promising that WWE 2K22 would focus more on quality. The redesigned engine was created to provide gamers with smoother controls and just overall improvements. Hopefully, developers have taken comments from both critics and gamers to ensure that the upcoming professional wrestling game will not disappoint.

Preorders for WWE 2K22 are available now, with three playable versions of The Undertaker offered to those who purchase the game early. WWE 2K22 will officially launch on March 11, 2022, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
