Persona 5 Trademark Renewals Has Fans Anticipating Ports

January 3, 2022 by Dennis Patrick

Persona fans might finally see this iconic installment release on new consoles.

Atlus has brought out some incredible games in the past. One of the more extensive hit series has been the Persona franchise. You’ll find that the latest release was a massive hit and, for some, an instant classic JRPG. Unfortunately, there is one major problem with the game. There are only a few platforms where you can actually enjoy Persona 5. The Persona 5 installment is only available on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms.

While there doesn’t appear to be any exclusive deals in place, the installment never made its way out onto other platforms. However, there have been several rumors that suggested a port was coming to Sony’s competitor platforms. Fortunately, there is a new indicator for fans that are hopeful a port announcement is coming soon. After all, the spin-off installment to Persona 5, Persona 5 Strikers, is available across multiple platforms. As a result, it would make sense if the original base game was also available for these platforms.

The new shred of hope comes in the form of trademark renewals. It’s nothing exciting, and it doesn’t tell us anything. But, the fact that Persona 5 trademark renewal has popped up may suggest that the IP will soon get some kind of new treatment. Of course, that’s purely speculation, but fans are hoping that this is just one piece of evidence that a proper port will soon come out. For now, it’s purely a waiting game to see what comes of the IP.

Again, Persona 5 was a smash hit and can be enjoyed right now on the Sony PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, Persona 5 Strikers, which takes place after the events of Persona 5, can be picked up on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms.
