People are expecting a lot of games and hardware news from E3, and one thing you can expect from Microsoft is a new Xbox One controller.
It looks pretty similar to the current one, but with the addition of a 3.5mm audio port. It’s a tiny thing and its competitor the DualShock 4 has had one since its first version, but depending on the player, it could significantly improve the gaming experience. It’s an easily-overlooked detail that was added to the Xbox One wireless controller support page recently.
This tiny improvement could be a hint at the release of a better console. Perhaps we’ll be seeing the Xbox One Slim at E3? No word on that yet, but Xbox France did tweet this photo with the caption: “On se prépare tranquillement… #XboxE3” That roughly translates to “Quietly preparing,” which has us thinking that they’ve got more than just an audio jack to present to us at E3.
