Have you been enjoying watching the Xenoblade Chronicles X Dolls / Skells in Monolith Soft’s presentations? Monolith and Nintendo know exactly what you are thinking, and they have answered your prayers.
Premium toymaker Kotobukiya has previewed a 1/144 scale model of Xenoblade Chronicles X’s Formula model Doll. As you can see, Kotobukiya previewed the Doll in both its robot and vehicular form. It even has a back weapon.
Monolith teases that fans should wait for more information. It’s safe to assume that even if collectors had no interest in the game, these transforming robots are sure to be a hit with figure enthusiasts.
What we don’t know yet is if Kotobukiya plans to make transforming Doll/Skell figures, and if they will have more weapons to match their appearance in the game, including rocket boosters for flying.
Kotobukiya is a famous global toymaker in the East and West, as well known for their Marvel and DC kits as their Bishoujo figures line. They are also more than capable of making assembly kits for mechs. What fans are more likely hoping for is that these toys get the VF-1 Valkyrie treatment, with fully transformable toys.
Doll/Skell designs are being worked on by artists like Takayuki Yanase (Ghost in the Shell Arise, Metal Gear Rising) and Fumihiro Katagai (Gyrozetter), among others. Are you willing to put some money down for some Doll/Skell toys? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
Xenoblade Chronicles X will be releasing exclusively for the Wii U later in 2015.
