Fortnite Adds Two Iconic Resident Evil Protagonists Into The Mix

October 25, 2021 by Dennis Patrick

New skins based on the Resident Evil IP hit Fortnite.

Fortnite is such a massive battle royale video game. This game is often held up as a pedestal to the battle royale genre in general. However, there’s been plenty of crossover events to keep players enjoying the game. Epic Games has continued to work on different deals to allow other IPs to hit the game to keep things fresh. We’ve seen everything from movies, musicians, television shows, athletes to other video games being represented in the game. Today, we’re finding out that the latest crossover event was Resident Evil.

Resident Evil fans who happen to enjoy Fortnite were treated to a surprise. Epic Games has brought Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine to the video game. Both characters are staple protagonists for the franchise and have starred in multiple games. In this crossover, players can purchase the skins separately or through a bundle. There are also some extra goodies to treat your characters with. Again, the characters are Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, in which their default skin is based around the original Resident Evil title.

With that said, there are some alternative skins. For example, Jill Valentine can dress up to the design that Capcom went out with for the Resident Evil 3 remake. Likewise, you can find Chris Redfield sporting his attire from the latest mainline installment to the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil Village. Meanwhile, there is the Green Herb and the Saving Keystroke Back Bling. Players could also make use of the Hot Dogger Pickaxe and the Stun Rod Pickaxe.

This is a fitting crossover to feature for the holiday season. We’re all diving into horror movies and video games for Halloween. There’s no telling just what other crossovers will pop up for the video game. Luckily, Fortnite is available on just about everything, but it is still missing on the iOS platforms. That’s due to an ongoing legal battle between Epic Games and Apple, which could last for another five years.
