Update: The game will not be getting presented at E3 2015, Nintendo has announced.
Original post follows:
When Nintendo first announced The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U, they stated that the game will be out in 2015. That is no longer the case, as Nintendo just announced that they are "no longer making a 2015 release [their] number one priority."
In fact, the game has since been delayed to some indefinite period in the future. The series' producer Eiji Aonuma had the bad news to share over on Facebook, where he left a video message for fans of the series.
"In these last three months, as the team has experienced firsthand the freedom of exploration that hasn't existed in any Zelda game to date, we discovered several new possibilities for the game," said Aonuma.
"As we have worked to turn these possibilities into reality, new ideas have continued to spring forth, and now it feels like we have the potential to create something that exceeds even my own expectations."
As a result, Nintendo no longer plans on releasing the game at the end of the year.
We'll keep you updated with the game's development as more information becomes available.
