Nintendo is currently working on developing a live-action TV series about the Legend of Zelda with Netflix.
The scoop was taken by the Wall Street Journal, which reported that “a person familiar with the matter” had informed them about the show’s creation. There’s no real proof as to whether any of this is true, given that the source isn’t someone actually involved with the show’s creation, but it stands to reason that the WSJ wouldn’t simply publish a story like this unless they were confident in their source.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the show is being described as “Game of Thrones for a family audience,” by Netflix, which produces shows like House of Cards.
Regardless of whether the show is real, it would seem that it currently only exists in a very early stage, and is still in need of a writer. There’s a good chance that the show, assuming the rumors are real, will be axed by either Netflix or Nintendo before anything else happens with it.
