We were recently treated to the first 18 minutes of Bloodborne, courtesy of IGN. The same publication has since released a trailer showcasing the game’s character creation—unveiled for the very first time.
The new video shows off the various character customization options that players can select for their character, from face to body type. You’ll be able to customize your character’s gender, appearance, age, build, and even voice.
It’s not as versatile as what games like Dragon Age: Inquisition offer (at least in terms of face creation) but you won’t exactly be staring at your character’s face for the vast majority of Bloodborne.
Interestingly enough, there is an “origin” selection that allows you to determine what kind of personality trait your character will have, though it’s unknown what role such traits will have on gameplay at this time. The options in the video include Lone Survivor, Violent Past, Cruel Fate, and Waste of Skin.
The game’s developers recently confirmed that shields will be making their way back into the game from the Souls’ series, however their effectiveness in combat will be very different from how players are normally used to.
