The director of Bloodborne, Hidetaka Miyazaki, talked about the influences of Demon’s Souls in the upcoming game.
In a fresh new interview with IGN, the director revealed that the game is heavily influenced by the original Demon’s Souls, also by From Software, especially in regards to its level design.
“Just reflecting on your question and the history of my development…it carries the DNA,” said the game’s director.
“It carries the DNA of Demon’s Souls and its very specific level design. And even in Bloodborne, the upper maps, the maps above ground, are all along the lines of Demon’s Souls and very specifically designed.”
In addition to the level design, the upcoming game is also expected to feature a central hub similar to Demon’s Souls, where players can navigate to access different part of the game’s world.
Miyazaki served as the director of Demon’s Souls, as well as Dark Souls, a multiplatform release.
Much like the upcoming Bloodborne, which is a PlayStation 4-exclusive game, Demon’s Souls was only released on the PlayStation 3. Bloodborne is set for a March 24 release.
