Earlier today, the developers of the upcoming Bravely Second, sequel to the smash RPG hit Bravely Default, held a livestream event. There was a bunch of new info, such as details on an Exorcist class, but the more humorous topic was character dialog.
There's a character named Aimy Matchlock who looks like a Native American but speaks with a Hiroshima dialect. When asked how he thinks how localization would be handled for such an unusual manner of speech, producer Tomoya Ayano jokingly said that they're trying to give the localization translators a difficult time. Then there is another character, Magnolia Arch, who has been shown to speak English in a previous trailer. Thats because she's from the moon where English is the native language.
The matter of Aimy and Magnolia both point to the development team's taking the localization process in mind when building the game. Bravely Second hasn't yet been confirmed for Western release, although considering Ayano's teasing on top of how well the original title sold here, it's only a matter of "when," not "if."
