Ninja Theory's Hellblade has been confirmed for release on PC, with the studio considering 4K and modding support for the third person hack-and-slash title.
Speaking to PC Gamer, the studio's Tameem Antoniades commented, "I think PC offers us a level of freedom that we haven't had before. We want to get to the point where we can invite players and fans to add to the game, and do things that are unexpected, and suggest ideas or add-ons that can make the game richer."
Hellblade was announced for PlayStation 4 at gamescom in August of last year, with the prospect that it would come to other consoles later.
The game is Ninja Theory's first major title since 2013 DmC: Devil May Cry, which is being re-released this year on PS4 and Xbox One. Hellblade seems more like the studio's 2007 PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword, but Ninja Theory's Dominic Matthews said it shouldn't be considered a spiritual successor.
"If we said it was the spiritual successor, there would be an expectation there is a story link or a certain type of gameplay or level design. It's a new IP," he remarked.
"It's a brand new game. It's brand new characters. It's a brand new world. It's not linked at all. But if you like Heavenly Sword, like Enslaved and like what we did, then the aim is you'll like this, too."
The game does not currently have a release date.
