Heroes of Might and Magic 3: The Restoration of Erathia HD Edition Coming January 2015

December 10, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

The game comes to Windows and tablets with a fresh coat of paint for its 15 year anniversary.

Ubisoft has revealed Heroes of Might and Magic 3: The Restoration of Erathia HD Edition, coming exclusively to tablets on January 29, 2015.

This release coincides with the 15 year anniversary of the game’s original release on PC. However, this HD version will have not only a Windows version, but mobile based iOS and Android versions, to play on tablets.

The game is an addictive combination of tactical map exploration and movement, and turn based combat. You can build armies of only eight types of monsters, but you can bring as many of them to battle as you can afford at any one time.

The Steamworks version will have full support, including online lobbies for matchmaking. Meanwhile, the tablet versions will have intuitive touchscreen controls to allow you to play everywhere. Whatever your platform of choice, you will be able to output the game for the first time in HD, and there will be 7 campaign scenarios, 50 skirmish maps, local multiplayer mode and a map editor.

You can watch the trailer to see how they upscaled they Hydra unit, scale by scale and frame by frame.
