Super Smash Bros. 4: Release Windows for Soundtrack Sampler and Mewtwo DLC

November 20, 2014 by Tony Ponce

Mewtwo may appear as a paid download eventually.

Some people will only buy one version of the new Super Smash Bros., but there are a few big incentives to picking up both. In addition to in-game features that are enabled when Wii U and 3DS machines running the game are linked up, registering both on Club Nintendo will also allow you to obtain a two-disc soundtrack sampler and the Mewtwo DLC at no extra charge.

Over on the Smash promo page, Nintendo has spelled out further details regarding how the bonuses will reach you and when they'll actually arrive. If you register the games before January 13, 2015, the CD will ship out to you some time in March. The registration period for Mewtwo extends to March 31, but the DLC is only listed as coming in Spring 2015.

Speaking of Mewtwo, what about those players who only buy one version but still want to play as the Melee veteran? It seems that Nintendo will make Mewtwo available for purchase at an unannounced future date. That's good news, especially in light of Smash director Mashario Sakurai's aversion to paid DLC.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U arrives tomorrow, November 21.
